Community
Standards.

Timbre works because the people in it take it seriously. This isn't a directory or a feed. It's a structured exchange between two people who've been matched because the model thinks the conversation is worth having. That premise only holds if people show up for it.

01

Be who you
say you are.

Your profile is a professional representation of yourself. It doesn't have to be perfect or complete, but it should be honest. Misrepresenting your background, title, or experience is grounds for removal.

02

Engage in
good faith.

When a thread opens, someone on the other side is investing time in you. Answer the question that was asked. Be present. You don't have to be brilliant — you have to be real.

Threads aren't sales calls. They aren't recruiting pipelines unless both people want that. They're conversations between two people who might have something to offer each other. Treat them that way.

03

Respect the other
person's time and information.

What's said in a thread stays in the thread. Don't share another member's answers, contact details, or personal information outside the platform without their explicit consent.

04

No harassment, solicitation,
or manipulation.

Zero tolerance. This includes unwanted advances, aggressive follow-up outside the platform, unsolicited pitches, and any attempt to pressure or manipulate another member.

05

Introductions
carry weight.

When you introduce two people, you're putting your name on it. Only introduce people you genuinely think should meet. An introduction that wastes someone's time reflects on you and degrades the network.

"Every conversation on Timbre should be something you'd be proud to have witnessed by a mentor you respect."

Consequences

When standards
aren't met.

Violations of these standards may result in a warning, suspension, or permanent removal depending on severity. Reports are reviewed by the Timbre team. We won't share the details of moderation decisions, but we take them seriously.

If something feels wrong

Use the Report a concern option at the bottom of any thread. Reports are reviewed directly and, where needed, mediated through the admin. You don't have to be certain something violated the rules to report it. If a conversation made you uncomfortable, that's enough reason to reach out.
